"CORE BLOG MEETS... " is a weekly post by CORE blog that exposes the public to the beautiful Members of Chapel of Restoration, their visions, talents, dreams and aspirations. Today, we had the privilege of having a chat with the beautiful and open minded Victoria.

CORE BLOG: Good afternoon Vickie
VICKIE: Good afternoon.
CB: So our first question is this. What exactly brought you to the chapel of restoration?
VICKIE: I was invited by a friend. His name is Sammy but people call him Oshiomole.
CB: What Is The most fascinating thing that has happened to you in the Chapel of Restoration?
VICKIE: Well, CORE is known for their organization and their drive for excellence in their members. I just felt I needed to be part of that drive.
CB: So let's divert a bit. What is your favorite colour?
VICKIE: blue
CB: why blue? That's masculine and most girls like colours like...
VICKIE: I am not most girls (laughs). And blue is a really cool colour.
CB: So how many languages can you speak?
VICKIE: english and Yoruba.
CB: yoruba?
VICKIE: (smiles) I am based in Lagos.
CB: favourite food?
VICKIE: I don't have a favourite food.
CB: you eat everything?
VICKIE: (laughs) I am selective. But I don't have a favourite food. For instance I don't eat goat meat.
CB: what's your position in the family?
VICKIE: the fourth. We are five, I am the fourth child but the third girl.
CB: So how was childhood like for you? Did you grow up scared of your elder sisters so they don't see you with someone they wouldn't approve..?
VICKIE: (laughs) that is exactly how it was. But it wasn't really fear I had for my sisters, it was more like respect.
CB: Are they so much older?
VICKIE: kinda. My immediate elder sister is about four years older than I am. But that doesn't mean I wasn't free with them though.
CB: As a student of Economics and development studies, where do you see yourself in five years?
VICKIE: well,  in five years time I think I should be married...
CB: Married? Like can you marry in school?
VICKIE: I should be a graduate then. But maybe not with kids yet but hopefully married.
CB: what kind of man would you like to marry?
VICKIE : God fearing obviously. I like tall guys. Huge but not huge enough to beat me always (laughs). Not to light skinned because I am light skinned. From the Ibo speaking part of the country.
CB: How about Career wise? Where do you see yourself in five years?
VICKIE: even if I have a white collar job, I would love to have am establishment of my own. I have flare for fashion especially shoes. So I think I will love to establish a shoe shop. Where I can sell both male and female shoes. I have a thing for sneakers.
CB: so what would you call your shoe shop?
VICKIE : Amavickie line (laughs)
CB: we really pray this Amavickie line dream comes to reality for you.
VICKIE: (smiles) Amen.

CB: so let us get a bit personal. You have to tell CORE blog a secret you haven't told anyone.
VICKIE : (laughs and thinks for a while). I used to be shy when I was little. Very shy. So one day we went to a family friends birthday party at an eatery and I fell in public with everyone looking. And that's just because I was shy. They asked me why I fell and I had to lie. But it was simply because I was shy.
CB: so how do you scale out of trying moments? What do you do when you feel sad?
VICKIE : I love to take strolls and listen to music. But generally, I don't like getting sad or angry. So I do everything possible to shake it off when I am.
CB: talking about music. Who's your favorite artist. Gospel artist.
VICKIE : (thinks for a while) that should be William McDowell.
CB: So let me ask you a CORE question now. Do you know our Chaplain's full name?
VICKIE : (laughs) Erm..... No. I need to slap myself.
CB: really you do. I am going to tell you his name after this interview. Don't want to give the next person we will be chatting with the answer.
VICKIE : that's OK. (laughs) .
CB: so what do you like about him?
VICKIE : He's full of life. Inspiring. And even though I haven't had a one on one conversation with him, I can tell he's a humble person.
CB: So do you have a mentor?
VICKIE: Academically I will say... (thinks for a while and points to Sammy. Sammy smiles like a child given a new toy.)
CB: what about spiritually?
VICKIE : My brother. He's a pastor in Winners.
CB: let us divert a bit. You have a very great sense of fashion. Who inspires you fashion wise?
VICKIE : I grew up with three elder sisters. So I think they played their part. But generally, I don't go with their style. I love to create mine.
CB: so vickie, you have such a big Bible. How often do you read it?
VICKIE : I try to read it every morning. I don't have a daily guide though, so I just pick a place and read.
CB: finally. What is your CORE story?
VICKIE : when I first came, I was not planning on staying. I just wanted to visit to see this CORE everyone has been talking about. But when I came I saw lots of things that held me back. The push for the academic excellence of the members is just amazing. There's a sense of greatness in this house that I want to tap from.
CB: thank you very much Vickie. We really had fun chatting with you.
VICKIE :(smiles) thank you.
