So "CORE BLOG meets" will be having a spin-off very soon. While CORE BLOG continues to have chats with our awesome members, we will be celebrating our awesome final year (sorry, final semester or final month?) students in "CORE BLOG CELEBRATES". but today, we meet an awesome (and very handsome) member of this great family. He was good enough to have a chat with us and told us a lot about him. Let's ride!
NAME: Ndukwe John Godleads
DOB: 13th July
DEPARTMENT : medical biochemistry
STATE OF ORIGIN : Abia state.
CORE BLOG : Good afternoon John and welcome to CORE BLOG.
JOHN: Good afternoon.
CORE BLOG : let's start with something simple. What's your position in the family?
JOHN: I am the last of six children. Two girls and four guys.
CB: how many languages can you speak?
JOHN: two. English and igbo.
CB: What about pidgin?
JOHN: (laughs) that is not a language jhor.
CB: pidgin English is a Nigerian Language. It's studied in linguistics department (really?) so add it up. You speak English, pidgin and igbo.
JOHN: wow. If you say so.
CB: we've been hearing rumors that you have a skill of sewing (guess who? 😂😂). So do you sew?
JOHN: I do sew.
CB: both male and female clothes?
JOHN: (nods) yes but not all of them though (CB and JOHN do a high five)
CB: so you are more focused in which area?
JOHN: mostly male clothes. But I sew female clothes sometimes.
CB: so John, where do you see yourself in ten years?
JOHN: (thinks for a while.) this is 2016...
CB: so we are talking about 2026 if Jesus Christ tarries.
JOHN: I should be established then...
CB: medically? Or fashion wise?
JOHN: medically and otherwise. That depends on how the future turns out to be.
CB: don't you think you should start making plans?
JOHN: I am making plans on both sides already. If it works out the education way, fine. If it works out the skill way, fine too.
CB: that's nice. Double blessing. So what are your hobbies?
JOHN: can I tell you I like reading?
CB: (laughs) we don't even want to hear that
JOHN: I like singing. I like drawing.
CB: OK. Let us come to CORE now. What is the most fascinating thing that has ever happened to you in the Chapel of restoration?
JOHN: what can I think of? Ok, one thing is that the choir is really amazing. That's one thing I must commend. Another thing is the communion we have in church, the friendship and the love. It's really amazing.
CB: I guess you are almost one year in CORE, so if you fail this question...
JOHN: (laugh) but I am not even up to one year.
CB: We don't care. You can't fail this question...
JOHN: october will make it exactly one year.
CB: we at CORE BLOG don't want to know. If you fail this question we are about to ask you, we will distort one if your pictures (not like CORE BLOG usually does this.. But it's John Choir! He shouldn't fail this.)
JOHN: (continues laughing) ok.
CB: so tell us. What is Daddy's full name? We mean full name with the correct titles.
JOHN: Evangelist barrister Nnamdi... There's one other middle name!
CB: (laughs) what's that name?
JOHN : Rev... Sorry. Evangelist barrister Nnamdi Okezie. I can't remember the middle one.
CB: OK, today In service the moderator compared Jesus to someone. Who was that person?
JOHN : (starts to think)
CB: the moderator compared Jesus to a person that they had things in common.
JOHN: (continues thinking)
CB: you weren't attentive in church. That's double wahala.
JOHN: (laughs)
CB: The moderator talked about their similarities. Their name begins with the letter J, they were both sold for money, they were betrayed by their close ones...
JOHN: oh Joseph! So the full name is Evangelist barrister Nnamdi Joseph Okezie (CB high fives John again)
CB: so how was your life before FUNAI?
JOHN: I finished school 2013, so I had to go into tailoring for the mean time. So I learnt tailoring for two years up until 2015. Although, I wasn't settled by my boss because of my admission into school. So basically, I was like a per time apprentice. Although if I go back on holidays, I will still visit.
CB: So what's your most embarrassing moment?
JOHN: (thinks for a veeeeeeery long time to the point CB starts giving suggestions) ya! I remember one. It happened when I was still an apprentice. So a man came over and saw me on the machine with his clothes. He was like 'what is this small boy doing with my cloth?' It was kind of embarrassing. But thank God after sewing it, the man loved it.
CB: How often do you read your Bible?
JOHN: Erm.... It depends sha. It's good to be truthful (bless your lovely heart John Choir). Mostly in the morning.
CB: everyday?
JOHN: not necessarily everyday. But sometimes at night.
CB: CORE BLOG loves your sincerity. We aren't trying to preach but there's a need to read your Bible everyday. Even if it's a verse. Make it a habit. Try doing it for 21 days and it becomes part of you. Ok?
JOHN: OK.
CB: so do you have a nickname?
JOHN: I don't have a nickname. (really? What about John Choir?)
CB: are you sure they don't call you something like JOJO?
JOHN: (laughs) no. No nickname. I just answer John Godleads.
CB: OK. Are you in any wing in church?
JOHN: I am in the Kingdom Restorers. The choir.
CB: is that all?
JOHN: I am partially part of the OGS.
CB: so by next semester, you should be fully part of the OGS?
JOHN: I don't know for now.
CB: so finally, what is your CORE story?
JOHN: when I came to school at first, I had a particular church in mind. I came and I met Kings...we attended the same secondary school. I knew he didn't recognize me when we met because it's been a long time. So when I saw him, I called his name 'Onyebuchi' (so that's king's igbo name? 😂😂). When I called him by that name, he was like 'this guy really knows me'. So we got talking and he introduced me to CORE. And I decided to come here.
CB: wow. We are so happy to have you here as part of this great family. You have been a blessing and today's choir ministration was wonderful. I just pray God continues to use you mightily. Thank you very much for your time John.
JOHN: thanks for having me.
