Woah! I have fallen in love with the exclamation because it is the only word that can describe every Sunday service. Simply superb. What a wonder! The 19th of June service was one that made everyone (especially me) want to stay much longer than usual.
First, it began with a power packed prayer. Please note that CORE is founded on collective prayers of the church. The prayer began by 7:30am and ended by 8:00am and the Bible study began in full swing, the learners or rather ex-learners from foundation class got to hand with the big un's. It was a wonder seeing them tackle rather than ask questions. Go Change! Christian Maturity was extensively tackled by the School of word and Papa John made sure at the end of the study, he proved the general house with questions.
Before-before, the foundation class students shuffled in to join us big un's but that we are almost on the same level, transition from Bible study to main service was much more easier and without disordinance. Soooooo, the moderator, one Mr Fortune came up, fresh kid! No further comment. He ushers in the worship team without further ado and Miss Victoria and her crew came to usher us into the presence of God. What a fantastic experience (plagiarism from an advert, forgive me). A big surprise waited the congregation when Samuel Ejedegba was invited for intercession. Omo see eyes. Someone might have thought it was an error, but hear me now! If you thought like that readers, that in itself is an error! You feel me? Yes I am feeling like a preacher now. Guess what happened... Wait for it... He did not rap! Sorry to the peeps who might have placed a wager on Mr ILY. Prayers were said and Mr Sammy Ejedegba forged ahead with the Spirit, leading the church into a powerful intercession! We could have prayed for hours if we were left alone, but the church has a set principle as regards the temporal cordinace of a meet. Did I confuse you? That was my intention.
After this spirit filled activity, it was time to shake the shackles off as Heaven's Dove led the praise. I keep wondering how he combines Sinach, Sonnie Badu, Steve Crown and Don meon together. He's a wow for me. The praise got the church dancing. What a beautiful session.
Special presentation time came along and another surprise was given by Mr Chinedu and his crew. What a special, special, song he sang. I felt something within me. Yes! The chorister in me was inaudibly crying out!
After his beautiful presentation to God, Heaven's Dove wowed us again. He praised God with a special number dedicated to Amah Nneka who had just recovered. I blushed oh! I was blushing on her behalf. What grace, what joy we all felt. How sweet and kind.
The last but not the least was Associate Professor Okezie's testimony. The Lord is king in CORE and we are royalty. Despite many obstacles, our wonderful mother in the Lord was granted safe travels to Thailand. She also took time to encourage the church and note she is one of the most inspiring people you can find anywhere on earth.
The CORE Drama Ministry had a ministration for the church on end times. That was the first teaching for the day. It was uneventful but motivational. The Lord is really involved in the affairs of the Church.
The Kingdom Restorers were next up and for a moment they confused the church as no one knew why they all came out with their chairs and sat down. But apparently, for the first time, they decided to sing seated down. It was a surprise to all (a day of surprises, huh?) but it was a concept that everyone loved. It was a simple song but trust the Restorers to wow everyone with it.
The second round of teaching came on practical Dreams taught by our mother in the Lord. This got me wondering, the glory upon their house Must be blinding. The Chaplain and his wife can be undoubtedly described as epitomes of God's glory. Her sermon was filled with insight, moral lessons, food for thought and prayers to cap it all. Oh em gee! God bless you ma! The church prayed for her in return for her wonderful teaching.
The moderator then calls in the tithers and Bro Princewill prayed for them while the offering was taken and this gave Mr Kings a chance to showcase his unbridled talent. Beautiful. The service was coming to a close but not without welcoming the beautiful and handsome first timers who were welcomed warmly and asked to wait behind for their welcome packs and a brief chat with the welfare department. The church service line was read by the secretary and soon, papa Uchechukwu had everyone up singing in love and unison. We started with prayers if you can recollect and we ended with a short and powerful prayer.
