26th June 2016, what a blast! I believe that Sunday's are the fun real fun days! As usual it was Woah-fully breath taking.
It began with the prayers which was to kick-start THR service. The intercession permeated the atmosphere with a Godly, Divine presence. God was literally there with us!
After this, the Bible study started off with something quite interesting. A general class taught by three sisters who were Ruth Okezie, Sarah Ojong and Favour Anosike. What an insightful study! Papa John rounded off the Bible study programme with a question and answer session. Nice! There was a smooth transition from the Bible study to the main service. Drum rolls please (drum rolls), the beautiful sister Amarachi came on to assert her position as the moderator. Her first instruction was calling up the worship team led by Van Collins. I must say I am still confused when it comes to that name. What a marvelous session anyway. Crowns were lifted, spirits moved and mouths confessed that Jesus is Lord. What a great session. Brother Chinedu (FUNAI's first renowned student author) and Active member of the SOW (school of word) took up the mic and led the church into the part two of the prayers. The intercession was mighty and supplications were made in faith (and I might have seen the Angel with basket of blessings marching) Don't ask!
The praise session began with Ufedo as the leader of the praise team backed up by Favour Anosike, Mary Iruke and Kings. It was er... Let me put it this way, it stole breaths away and speech too and a holy puzzling. Big ups to the team.
The moderator then called for testifiers and presentations. Kings gave his testimony of being saved from an accident so if you see him limp, know that that is proof that God saves and look away. Praying for his speedy recovery. Bro Unique came up and did something...unique. first, questions were asked and then Recharge cards (fastest fingers) was conducted. I didn't get any because I conveniently left my phone in the hostel. My luck 😟. Just my luck 😞. Thanks brother Unique. Anosike Favour (my auto-correct keeps changing that surname to Anodise) then gave her testimony, thanking God for the series of birthdays during the week. We thank God for life. He is merciful indeed.
The marvellous Kingdom restorers came up for their ministration (no sitting this week) and I got this message for myself. 'He sees the best in me' and truly that is God for you. He sees the best in people. Their black and ash uniform was spectacular also and the symmetry was out of this world.
After this, the tithe was taken and the tithers prayed for, then the offering was given. Then favour Anosike (Erm...what does Anodise mean?) gave a hot round of praise for long heavenly minutes. I didn't realize it was the last Sunday of the month till she mentioned it and I had to dance some more in appreciation to God.
Coincidentally, after the praise session, the speaker and his colleagues walked in and without further ado, were duly welcomed. The speaker came up and gave a powerful talk on the topic, 'think big'. Well, as a man thinketh, so he is.
He explained the indispensable nature of innovation and technology and told the church three pitfalls to be avoided. What a wonderful teaching session. Prayers by his colleagues rounded off the session and then the secretarial wing came up. Mr adama johnson asked for first timers and they were welcomed and duly informed of our weekly activities.
Those born from January to June were called upon and about 50 percent of church were called out specifically and blessed by the men of God. Tutorials were announced by brother ebuka the academics coordinator and the service ended with prayers just like it began with prayers. Brief meetings were held, pictures were taken (as is becoming the usual now), my dress was admired and that's it from Sunday 26th June 2016. See you next week. Have a glorious week. Peace!
