“Always ask the Holy Spirit to guide you as you read”, Phillip had advised her. “Faith cometh by hearing the word of God and for you to hear, you need the Holy Spirit otherwise, you are just reading another book”.

Lisa really didn’t believe this of course, but she tried it. She first made a little prayer, telling Jesus to come into her life and asking His spirit to give her understanding of His Word. Phillip had recited the prayer for her and she had repeated after him. She started reading from the gospel of Mark and then Matthew, Luke and John. She read the Bible everywhere she was even when she was less busy in the office. Everyone suddenly became extra nice to her and she in return. She was learning to love and she could see how much better it was to just love everyone. She had not started attending any church, she only visited Phillip and Osas whenever she needed an explanation to a particular passage and they were always willing to help.
Week after week Lisa studied the Bible. She finished the Gospels and then went into the Psalms and Proverbs. Things started to make more sense to her and she started to see God differently. She smiled so much more when she was in the office, and started rebuilding her friendship with Itohan. Dr Beatrice was the happiest as her daughter in law had become the complete package. It was unfortunate Ehimen was not alive to witness this dramatic change.

The news of the release of Mr Lucky Odefe had become the talk of the town and Lisa could see how dishonest it made her look. No one cared to listen Victor was the actual criminal, they only looked at her as evil because she was the benefactor of Victor’s stupid action.

“Why aren’t you married?” She asked after a brief silence and he smiled. That smile she had gotten so used to and always looked forward to seeing. But it had been almost a month since they last saw each other. Even though he called everyday wanting to know about the welfare of her and her son.

The holdup was annoying. The noise in the market was way more annoying, especially the chant from the Bible store. “Buy your Bible at just 200 naira! Men, women, children, just 200 naira. Young man with the blue shirt, lady in the white skirt, just 200 naira!”

The arguments with her mother had gotten so frequent that even Itohan was getting tired of it. They had another one that morning and she was seriously considering moving back to Abuja. But first, she had to get Mr Lucky out of trouble and expose the slimy snake, Monalisa for who she really was.

Lunch was always going to be eaten almost in silence due to the sudden arrival of Itohan. No one expected her that afternoon as she had not been seen or heard from in almost four months. The last time Itohan tried to have a conversation with her mother it had resulted in a heated argument and that had led her to storm out of the house promising never to come back.

So CORE BLOG caught up with this amazing, beautiful graduate and you know we had to quiz her. Ada has been not just an awesome student but an amazing servant in the Chapel of restoration. Her record speaks for itself. First elected as the pioneer assistant Music director before being moved up to Music director proper where she served for two years. Then served as the head of the OGS wing. She's also been in two shachah yadah committees and many others. On a side note, Ada is kinda known as a picture freak and rumour has it that she even takes pictures when she sleeps! Anyway, let's get right into it.

Very few expected Rex to come out on top (to be fair, Hillz is an intimidating MC and he was first runner up last year), but Rex came out King for the first time ever. CORE blog caught up with the rap star to have a brief chat with him.

So it was a wonderful Saturday, 4th of June 2016 as members of Chapel of restoration gathered at the school field to engage in sporting activities in line with the Bro-Sis week. It was fun, fun, fun, all through as both the brothers, the sisters and the Chaplain, came out in their sports wear to keep fit. Highlight of the event was the breath taking football match between the brothers and the sisters. I know... Let me explain.

Bro-sis week 2016 was a week to never forget, starting from the debate/hot service to the football match (which the girls somehow won) and then the Sunday thanksgiving service. The dinner night was the programme to round off the marvelous week and all these became a reality by the wonderful efforts put in by all members of CORE.

A STAR IN OUR KR GALAXY

Chapel of restoration is a home of stars and this is epitomized by the ever growing and excellent choir otherwise known as the Kingdom Restorers (KR). From the talented Vicsing, to the dynamite God's favryt, to the awesome duo Norah and Sarah. But there is a new star in the KR galaxy currently on everyone's lips and he is no other but Okechukwu Christian, commonly called Heaven's Dove.
